Rotary Community Service
Rotary participates in local,
national, and global efforts for charitable causes and has been a
long-standing supporter and organizer of projects supporting the
greater good.
Since 1989
Marshfield Rotary has contributed in excess of $260,000 to various
foreign and local charitable projects within the Rotary
International window of service.
Some of these
projects include:

Rotary Winter Wonderland - A
massive holiday light show in Wildwood Park and Zoo
raising funds to help feel the hungry in our community.
- Holding a
yearly teachers banquet for retiring teachers
- Staffing a
food booth for the New Visions art gallery mothers day art fair
every year since 1998

Participation in the meal on wheels program, continuously since
1987
- Sending two
students to World Affairs camp in Whitewater each year
-
Contributions to the building of
Camp
Tesoma
boy scout camp
- Helping
build the Neillsville Highground Veterans Memorial park on Hwy
10

Contributions to the Columbia Park 3 year flower garden project
- Building a
large fishing pier on the upper pond at Wildwood park
- Building a
flower and shrubbery garden in Praschak park wayside

Contributions to the Opportunity Development Center building
project, Laird center building project, and the Marshfield skate
park

van for St Jude’s hospital,

West Indies to service to outside villages

Bangladesh:
blood bank equipment, X-ray and medical equipment

Nicaragua:
computers, sun ovens

Sri Lanka:
steel for foot bridge

Argentina
sister city project: several members at own expense visited
and established work projects

Lebanon:
several Rotary shelter boxes for disaster situations

Bulgaria:
coordinated with other Rotary clubs on orphanage project

Romania:
built a playground for children

Various
locations: tsunami relief sun ovens

Polio Plus
campaign: considerable monetary contributions, in addition to
Tom and Hilda Nikolai's travel at personal expense to India
(see picture above) to help administer
immunizations
