5/18/2012   Tim Deets
Tim was born in Pennsylvania but grew up near Manitowoc. After college, the Air Force, and an advanced degree, Tim worked in environmental engineering. Arriving in Marshfield in 1999 with his physician wife, Cheryl, they decided Tim would stay home and take care of their three children, Stuart (now a sophomore), Aaron (7th grade), and Elena (4th grade). Stuart is on the mock trial team at MHS and starting to think about college and law school. Aaron loves technology, singing, and theater, and belongs to a group call Sonic Explosion (performances coming in March), and Elena loves gymnastics and trains at/competes for Oshkosh Gymnastics Center. All three of the children are involved in scouting programs. The family enjoys many outdoor activities during the varied seasons of Wisconsin. Tim has served on the school board since 2002 and has been the Board President for several years. Tim joined Noon Rotary in 2009.

5/12/2012   Scott Larson
Scott was hired as Executive Director of Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry in November of 2006 and became a Marshfield Rotarian a month later. He and his wife Koreen and their daughters, Kayla & Ashley, live in Pittsville. A graduate of UW-LaCrosse with a BA in business administration & management, Scott gained economic development experience as Executive Director of the Berlin (WI) Community Development Corporation.

5/5/2012   Dale Leffel
Dale and wife Pat have been married since 1976. Naturally, they met in a restaurant! Dale comes from a tradition of restaurateurs. At one time his extended family ran 22 independent restaurants, but Dale’s is the only one left. In 1977, Bob Heck brought Dale and Pat to Marshfield to open West View Country Club (now Riveredge). In 1984 they built the Belvedere and later Leffel’s Heritage Ridge apartments next door. Dale was introduced to Rotary by John Cross in 1985 and is a 4-time Paul Harris member. Dale’s passion for Rotary continues to grow, as evidenced by his record of enlisting many new members to Rotary and his commitment to its mission. And now, in 2012, Dale was honored with the Service Above Self Award!

4/27/2012   David Acaley
Dave is a marketing consultant for WAXX Radio covering a wide area from Neillsville to Medford. He has been in radio since October of 1970, at one time an on-air personality in Stevens Point under the radio name, “Steve Point.” He and wife Susan have four children and four grandchildren. One daughter lives in Oslo, Norway, a son lives in Chicago who helps produce the TLC program called “Strange Addictions,” and another daughter owns a beauty salon in Stevens Point. Dave is a Past-President of the Stevens Point Rotary and has been a member of our club since 2010.

4/20/2012   John Baltus
John was born and raised in Marshfield and graduated from Columbus High School. He attended UW-LaCrosse earning a degree in Business Administration and worked in LaCrosse a while before returning to Marshfield to join the family business. He worked his way up to his current position as president of Baltus Oil Co., a third generation petroleum distributorship with a dozen retail facilities that has been in business 85 years. John has two children and one grandchild. John joined Rotary in 1986 and served as president in 1996.

4/13/2012   Bob Kulp
Bob Kulp is the founder of Kulp's of Stratford, a roofing and insulation company that has been in business since 1985. Bob is the President of the Wausau Chapter of Construction Specifiers Institute (CSI) and is a director of the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) currently serving a three year term and serves on several committees including the Manual Update Committee and the Government Relations Committee. Bob was also appointed to a second three year term on the Regulatory Fairness Board of the US Small Business Administration. Kulp’s is a steep and low slope, commercial and residential roofing and insulation company with an emphasis on metal and thermoplastic roofing systems and interior spray foam installations. They also have a specialty metals division (Marathon Metals) that includes fabrication and finishing of projects such as complete steeple structures as well as finials on steeples for churches. Bob also founded Kulp Energy Solutions in 2011 to offer compressed natural gas (CNG) in Stratford and conversions for light duty vehicles for them to utilize CNG. Bob and Laura have seven children (two of them in Taiwan) and two grandchildren.

4/6/2012   Ray Hansen
Raymond was born and spent the first 20 years of his life on a farm near Camp Douglas, Wis. The following are some of the highlights of the rest of his life: US Navy two years; BS & MD from University of Wis,; internship at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield; ten years general practice at Colby, Wis.; fellowships in Pediatrics, Allergy & Immunology at Mayo Clinic; specialty practice at Marshfield Clinic for 21 years; Chief of Staff at St. Joseph's Hospital for 3 years; president of Wisconsin Allergy Society; fifteen volunteering trips to St. Lucia; joined Rotary 1981; raised funds through Rotary to buy van for hospital in St. Lucia; Rotary Service Above Self Award; Boy Scout service included President of Samoset Council and Silver Beaver Award; presided over Woodlands Preservation Committee which was instrumental in preserving 18 acres of forest and adding it to the UW Arboretum. Ray has been married to Elaine since 1951. They have three sons, two granddaughters and one great granddaughter. His hobbies are golfing, swimming, woodcutting, genealogy & cottaging.

3/30/2012   Victoria Strobel
Vicky has been with the Marshfield Clinic for eight or nine years and is Director of Business Development. She and husband Don have two children who attend Columbus High School. Vicky enjoys swimming, golf, and travel.

3/23/2012   Peter Schmeling
Pete is Development Officer–Research, with Marshfield Clinic. His role is to help support the work of the Marshfield Clinic Research Foundation through philanthropy. Pete holds the CFRE credential, which means Certified Fund Raising Executive. With the Clinic since July 2011, Pete previously was with St. Mary’s Foundation in Madison, the philanthropic arm of St. Mary’s Hospital. Pete grew up in Green Bay and is an avid Packer fan. His undergraduate degree is from UW–Green Bay and he has his master’s degree in business from UW–Madison. He currently lives in Wausau with his wife, Kathy Kurth. Pete's hobbies include playing percussion (he's a current member of the Green Bay Symphony), golfing and skiing.

3/16/2012   Dave Valle
Dave Valle was born and raised in the small communities surrounding the Horicon Marsh. He graduated from Lomira High School in 1961 and went into the banking industry. Dave worked in banks in Fond du Lac, Mayville and Lake Geneva until coming to Marshfield as President of the then Tri-County State Bank. Dave remained in that position until the bank was sold to the M&I Bank Holding group and then in 1986 purchased the Retail floral business known as "Spring Green Floral". While working in the bank at Mayville, David was very involved in City of Mayville serving as an alderman and Mayor for a number of years. Dave's Rotary history started in 1975 with the Lake Geneva Rotary Club as a member and served as club Treasurer for a couple of years and then was elected club President in 1978. Dave joined the Marshfield Rotary Club in Feb 1979 and has served as the club's treasurer since 1988. In April of 2003 the Marshfield Rotary Club presented Dave the "Service Above Self Award" for his involvement in Rotary and Community functions. Dave has been involved in a number of Chamber of Commerce committees as well as the Chamber Ambassadors. Dave's hobbies include a great interest in baseball and has followed the Brewers, Cubs, Twins and White Sox. He also has a lifetime interest in model railroading and collecting various railroad items.

3/9/2012   Paul VanDenHeuvel
Paul is Associate General Counsel at Marshfield Clinic where he works in the areas of reimbursement, intellectual property, information technology & negotiation. He and Melissa have two children, Jackson, who is the current city spelling bee champion, and Grace, who is in 4th grade. Paul has been in Marshfield nine years. Paul says he is driven by service, particularly service based in his church, and Rotary.

Joe has been a Rotarian since 1988 and is the current President of Marshfield Rotary Club. He and Katherine have three children and nine grandchildren. Joe is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and heads Marshfield Utilities.

2/24/2012   Jerry Nelson
Jerry was born and raised in Superior where he spent his first 47 years. He and Mary have been married for over 50 years, have 6 children and 13 grandchildren. Jerry started out in the railroad business before beginning a career in the Post Office. The Postal Service took him to Appleton, Richland Center and Monroe before coming to Marshfield. He was a charter member of the Richland Center Rotary Club. Jerry has been secretary of the Marshfield Rotary Club for 22 years. Also active in civic affairs, Jerry served 18 years on Marshfield’s City Council and has served for the last eleven years as a Wood County Supervisor.

2/17/2012   Bill Sennholz
Bill is originally from Wautoma, Wisconsin. He attended UW Oshkosh, spent 13 years in Wausau working for M&I and People’s Banks, 3 years in a bank in southern Iowa, and has been in Marshfield for seven years as president of Forward Financial Bank. He and Claudia have two children, Ian and Regina. Bill enjoys skiing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, snowshoeing, swimming, water skiing, golf, hunting of all kinds, and travel.

2/10/2012   Patricia Stuhr
Dr. Patricia L. (Bloczynski) Stuhr came back to UW Marshfield/Wood County after twenty-four years of service at The Ohio State University where she served as a Professor & Chair of the Department of Art Education. She attended Columbus High from 1963-67 & the UW-Mfld/WC from 1967-1969, received her B.S. degree from UW-Stevens Point in 1971, MST degree from UW-Oshkosh in 1979, & Ph.D. from UW-Madison in 1987. After graduating from Stevens Point, she taught art for fourteen years in Oakfield, WI, K-12 public schools & evening art classes in maximum & medium security prisons in Waupun & Fox Lake for 11 years. Pat has done extensive research & publication in the area of contemporary Wisconsin Native American visual culture and artists, multicultural art education, & the arts in integrated curriculum. In 1998, she received a Fulbright Award to teach & research on the topics of multicultural art education & integrated curriculum at the University of Art & Design in Helsinki, Finland. She was appointed as an Honorary Guest Professor of Shandong University of Art & Design (Jinan, China) in September, 2009. Pat & her husband Dr. Anthony Scott are glad to be back in Marshfield & Pat looks forward to serving the campus students, the city, and county communities.

2/3/2012   Patti Shafto-Carlson
Patti is originally from New Jersey. Dr. Milbauer indirectly brought her family here in 1976. Patti attended Loyal H.S. and UW-Mfld/Wood County before earning a B.S. at UW-Stevens Point. Patti began working as a Volunteen at St. Joseph’s Hospital, then was hired to work at the Information Desk and recently celebrated 30 years at the hospital. She is now Director of Development for Children’s Services, but most people know her as the Children’s Miracle Network person. A retired firefighter for the Town of McMillan, Patti has two children. The oldest has been in the Army for 11 years and has done one tour of duty in S. Korea and two tours in Iraq. Patti also has two grandchildren with a third on the way.

1/20/2012   Andy Keogh
Andy Keogh joined Rotary in Sept. of 2002 shortly after moving the Marshfield to become Dean at the University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood county. He graduated from St. Norbert's, UW-Eau Claire and Washington State University. He held faculty and administrative positions at North Dakota State University and Ohio Dominican College before coming to Marshfield. Andy retired from UW-M/WC just last year but has been called upon to serve as interim Dean at UW-Fox Valley until a search for a new Dean in completed. His wife, Kristine, is an architect. They have three grown children.

Dean and his wife Lois have lived in Marshfield since 1974 when Dean took the position of Director of Library Media for the Marshfield Schools. After retiring in 2000, Dean served as Executive Director of the Marshfield Area Community Foundation until 2008. Lois is an independent designer who specializes in senior care facilities. Dean & Lois enjoy traveling, particularly to visit their two children and four grandchildren. Dean has been active in community theater, struggles to master golf, is an amateur photographer, and is an enthusiastic curler. A Rotarian since 2007, he is editor of the Noon Rotary Bulletin.

Greg was born in Blue Island, Illinois, a south Chicago suburb. He earned his BA at Aurora University and his MS at Southern Illinois University. Greg has been in the financial services business for 30 years. He got to central Wisconsin via Scottsdale and Dallas through corporate transfers with Sentry Insurance and decided to stay. He is now a financial advisor with M&I, part of the BMO financial group. He has been married to Rebecca for 30 years. They have a son Matt, soon to be 23, and daughter Charlotte, 26, who is doing research in Copenhagen, Denmark, after having earned her Masters in Public Health.

Marty was born in Iowa but grew up in Omaha. He attended Mankato State where he met his wife, Laurie. Marty worked in Omaha and southern Minnesota before coming to Marshfield in 1985 to join what was then Associated Citizens Bank. They have three married children: Chris, who lives in Marshfield, and Susan, and John, who live in the Twin Cities. Marty relocated to the Wausau area about seven years ago for work related reasons but came back to Marshfield a couple years ago and is now President of Heritage Bank.

11/25/2011   Georgette Frazer
The oldest of six girls, Georgette was born and raised in Evanston, IL, the home of International Rotary. One of the highlights of her childhood was when Martin Luther King came to speak in their village square. A graduate of Goddard College in Vermont, Georgette pursued studies in ecology, economics, and finance and has spent her career weaving those three interests together. She is in the process of retiring from her 27 year career as a sustainable and socially responsible investment manager. She and husband Don Beyer will remain in Marshfield but plan to travel to England and Australia to visit their children. A member of Rotary since 1987, Georgette was our club's first woman president (1997-98) and in 2007 became the first woman to receive our Service Above Self award.
